While working in television development, I produced sizzle reels — aka trailers for potential television & digital series. From the treetops of Kentucky to salvage yards in Minnesota, I learned that compelling stories exist everywhere. My job was to find them, earn people's trust, and shape authentic narratives that captured both their voice and a project's creative vision.
Producing sizzle reels taught me to be nimble in both the field and the edit bay. Working with a bare-bones crew, I learned how to tell engaging stories efficiently without sacrificing authenticity. Because it was often a subject's first time on camera, I also learned how to lead with empathy and grace in order to create an environment where people felt comfortable enough to simply be themselves.
I have a high success rate in network commissions and continued development deals with numerous networks including: Animal Planet, Food Network, HGTV, History Channel, and more. I keep in touch with many of the people whose stories I had the privilege of telling. Below are a few of my favorites:
